"How
Do I Get My Money Back???!!!"
Here's
what we know & what you can try to get your money back:
From what we understand, if your bank account has been debited
from one of these companies, go to your bank, you must do this within 60 days from the date you were debited, fill out an affidavit (your bank will supply
the form) stating you want to REVOKE your authorization (File an RO7 affidavit).
There
is a new "Check Draft" that the processors are using, (and the
scammers are loving) that debits your account within 5 - 8 days, and the
Affidavit RO7 will NOT apply to this. You have two options, one is to file
FORGERY affidavit against the business, OR ask your bank WHO did the debiting
(Processor). They will have no less than a phone number for this company.
Contact them for refund.
Likewise, you should CLOSE your account and reopen a new account with
a different account number.
You may want to try checking out the BBB also - http://www.bbb.org
.
From what we've heard, it's
nearly impossible to contact any of the companies we have listed in our warnings
pages. If you've mailed a check to these companies - try to stop payment
on your check. If you can't stop payment on the check, try going to your
bank, and speak with a bank manager or someone with POWER to reverse the
debit/charge/check.
By the way, GO TO THE BANK IN
PERSON -- don't call them -- you will always get better service if you go there
in person and explain the situation.
Please note, many people will
not be able to get their money back.....typically people who have mailed checks
to these companies will not be able to get your money back from your bank.
BUT, it's worth trying. If you're checking account was debited from one of
the companies listed, you have a better chance of getting your money back.
Best wishes,
